A baby has been shot dead by a toddler sibling in the parking lot of a medical center in Texas, according to authorities.
A woman, a three-year-old, a two-year-old and an infant were inside a parked SUV waiting for an appointment at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio on Monday when the shooting happened.
The baby has been identified as 11-month-old Khamari Lang, who would have turned one in November.
One of the toddlers grabbed a long gun from the back of the vehicle and fired one round, striking Khamari in the head and killing him, officials said.

Police have not said how the driver is related to the young siblings, according to KENS5.
‘What we have here is a terrible, terrible tragedy,’ said police Chief William McManus.
‘In the very rear of the vehicle, there was a loaded weapon. One of the two older children got ahold of that weapon and accidentally shot the 11-month or 10-month-old.’
It’s not clear if anyone will face charges over the shooting.
A GoFundMe has been created to support Khamari’s family.
‘As his aunt, I am supporting my brother and his family in raising funds for funeral and related expenses during this incredibly difficult time,’ wrote organizer Sheena-Marie Hutton.
‘Khamari was just 11 months old, the youngest of six siblings. He brought immense joy to our lives and was in the process of learning to walk. His loving spirit will be deeply missed.
The child who shot Khamari accidentally blasted the baby to death while in a car with a woman, who may now face criminal charges
‘The family recently moved to San Antonio and is currently living with me as they search for a new home and work to rebuild their lives.
‘Any support you can provide would mean the world to them during this challenging period. Thank you for your kindness.’
The South Texas Veterans Health Care System released a statement following the fatal shooting at the medical center’s parking lot.
‘We are deeply saddened by this event and offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of everyone affected,’ they said.
‘The South Texas Veterans Health Care System takes the safety of its Veterans and staff seriously and appreciate the quick response and support from local law enforcement, as well as our VA Police.’
